How do I take care of my dry hair?

You could use the Low-Poo (or Lo Poo) Method. This means washing your hair with a conditioner more often than washing with shampoo. If this does not work, you can use the No-Poo (or No Shampoo method). This means washing your hair only with conditioner and not shampoo.

These two methods keep your hair from becoming stripped of too much of your natural scalp oil, or sebum.

If you are using products that contain petroleum or petrolatum, STOP! Grease does NOT moisturize your hair. Grease keeps moisture from entering your hair and CAUSES your hair to be dry and brittle.

Mix a spray bottle of warm water (distilled if you have it) and a few drops of vegetable glycerin. Glycerin is a humectant. Humectants pull moisture out of the air and into your hair. You can also substitute a LITTLE bit of honey instead of glycerin in the above concoction.

Use this to mist your hair during the day and before you go to bed. Also wear a satin cap or sleep on a satin pillowcase. Sleeping on cotton and other fabrics will rob your hair of moisture.
