When most people refer to natural hair as COARSE, what they are referring to is hair TEXTURE. Hair texture is the measure of the thickness of a hair strand. These measurements are classified as coarse, medium, or fine. Coarse is the thickest diameter and fine being the thinnest diameter. Having coarse, medium, and fine textures is NOT race specific. It differs per individual. Many people of many ethnic groups may have all three textures on one head! This is not unusual.
Grease does NOT make your hair grow. Grease coats the hair shaft, thus, preventing moisture from penetrating your hair. In essence, it causes your hair to die of thirst. Grease also clog your pores, thus, hindering hair growth. Grease also acts like flypaper by attracting dirt, lint, and product residue.
